What You Will Be Doing
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for leading the Procurement activities for our Service business in Middle East and Africa region (MEA) and will support our Joint Ventures in Algeria and in Kuwait. You will be responsible for aligning with Business Leadership and Procurement Function to identify, prioritize and deliver critical cost-out activities in the region. The successful candidate will report to the Sr Director, Procurement, Europe, Middle East & Africa.

Key Functions & Responsibilities

• Drive productivity initiatives, manage the sourcing requirements for the renewal of Service contracts from the bid to the execution phase, providing operational support and cost reduction for the operation and the maintenance of the water treatment plants.
• Align and prioritize Procurement Strategies with Business Leadership, Sales, Category Management, and Fulfilment teams.
• Insure the “best supplier Total Cost of Ownership” to meet current and future business requirements.
• Responsible for delivering key procurement metrics including cost-out, reducing supply risk, Days to Pay, Best Cost Country sourcing, consolidation of the supplier base.
• In conjunction with the Global and Regional Category Management teams:
• Build global comprehensive commodity strategies to meet stated goals including total cost improvement plans, multiple region supplies and capacity requirements;
• Develop key strategic Supplier relationships and negotiation strategies to achieve best long-term value for the business;
• Establish and maintain relationships with internal partners to maximize procurement effectiveness and value.

Especially for the services activity:

• Prepare and issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs), obtain offers, clarify, negotiate with suppliers for equipment, fabrication and metal works, E&I, chemicals, waste management, maintenance, lab supplies and analysis, etc.
• Prepare Purchase Orders based on verified specifications, Material codes & Prices, Terms and Conditions.
• Check up to date lead times from suppliers, track delivery schedules, verify manufacturing readiness at suppliers, co-ordinate with internal teams/suppliers for on time project execution schedules, participate in issue resolution with suppliers as needed, support effective recovery plans.
• Manage proper communication with the suppliers, monitor and expedite Purchase Orders.
• Drive key metrics around PO cycle time, on-time delivery, on-time payments.
• Effective co-ordination with suppliers and internal Service Project teams/stakeholders.
• Create payment tracking and invoice analysis tracking / invoice analysis.
• Support payments to suppliers and work closely with Accounts Payable on resolutions.
• Adapt usage of digital tools and data analytics in accordance with Procurement’s global digital strategy.
• Ensure compliance to Procurement processes and practices.

Core Requirements

• Diploma in Engineering from an accredited University or College.
• Minimum five (10) years’ experience in Procurement, specifically in Projects, Services and Operation & Maintenance contracts.
• Minimum two (3) years’ experience in SAP.
• Proven experience in Procurement, preferably in Middle East region.
• Language skills: strong written and spoken proficiency in English. Arabic or French language skills would be a plus.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Industrial, or Mechanical), Biology, or Chemistry, or in any related discipline from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 5 years of experience in customer Service, technical sales in the water process/treatment field

Eligibility Requirements:

• Ability and willingness to travel within territory, as required
• Ability and willingness to reside in assigned region, or within customer proximity requirements, as required
• Work frequently in a heavy industrial environment requiring the use of Personal Safety Equipment and exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and other similar irritants typical of those found in a refinery, chemical plants, power plants, etc., as required
• Ability and willingness to comply with stringent drug testing and background check requirements set by customer safety requirements, as required
• Basic Computer Skills including MS Office, and other software programs within a Windows environment
• To the extent that you are applying for a position that requires you to operate a company-owned / leased or rented vehicle for company business, you must be willing to submit a check of your driving record.

Desired Characteristics:

• Additional 5+ years of experience in technical sales in the Water Treatment/Water Process industry

What will you be doing?

The field service and sales engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. This individual will utilize experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goals.  In addition, you will:

• Be primarily focused on selling water processing solutions and products to expand and maintain customer accounts
• Actively listen to customers’ needs and provide effective technical service to resolve issues and inquiries
• Drive growth by continuously creating and selling customer value propositions for an assigned account base that focuses on our competitive advantage while leveraging our broad product portfolio
• Participate in collecting and testing water samples on-site and analyses results to provide recommendations to improve quality of treatment
• Serve as a knowledge resource to customers using WTS technology to solve identified water treatment needs
• Partner cross-functionally within the organization to optimize our solutions offering
• Develop a plan to effectively meet sales targets by meeting or exceeding key metrics for revenue, account retention, profitability
• Learn and maintain awareness of all safety and environmental practice
• Use and maintain to company standards an assigned fleet vehicle to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job
