Reports To: Sr. Technical Safety engineer reports to Head of Discipline – Process
Job Overview
The Sr. Technical safety engineer is responsible for independently handling various FEED and Detail engineering projects. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in oil & gas. The Senior Process Safety Engineer is responsible for handling engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects.
In your role you are expected to organize projects with proper work sharing, tracking of progress & coordination with Inter disciplines and counter parts/client. You will be responsible for leading projects as and when required. You should have a desire to work on multi-disciplinary local as well overseas projects and be able to drive discipline goals by leading assigned projects. This job requires technical safety engineering skills so site base HSE need not to apply.

Responsibilities and Duties
- Conversant with Fire Network Design, Radiation and Dispersion Modelling
- Consequence Analysis and QRA
- Technically competent in Process Safety Engineering Discipline
- Provide leadership and coaching to engineers with less work experience
- Writing proposal’s scopes of work, execution methodology, technical queries to client
- Performing Basic Process Design Activities (Line List, Tie-in List, Basic PFD/PIDs check, Process Description etc.)
- Preparation of design deliverables including philosophies, reports, studies, specifications, data sheets, drawings, etc whilst following all applicable operational procedures
- Preparation / Review of HSE plan, HSE philosophy, Specification for F&G, Fire water analysis, HSE layout,
- Hazardous area classification, escape route etc.
- Ensure compliance with relevant specifications as well as applicable national/ international regulations, codes and standards
- Responsible for the review and approval of vendor documentation as applicable to the discipline
- Follow standard working procedures and ensure that compliance with relevant QA/QC systems is achieve.
- Coordinate with Project Managers for resolution of related issues.
- Ensure prompt exchange of correspondence and approvals.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
- Prepare progress reports as applicable.
- Participate in estimation for sales enquiries and provide required support for bidding
- Apply expertise to the most complex problems.
- Develop and manage plans to achieve business objectives.
- Ensure interfaces and deliverables are clearly identified.
- Maintain responsibility for progress and productivity, identifying any required corrective action.
Qualifications
- Previous experiences executing Oil & Gas/Petrochemical/Chemical Feasibility Studies, Conceptual
- Design/Basic Engineering & FEED / Detailed Engineering
- Previous experience managing HAZID, HAZOP, LOPA, hazardous area classification, firewater systems, fire and gas detection
- Minimum 15 years of proven capability in engineering consultancy/design company
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with a qualification in technical safety Field
- Good communication skills and relationship building skills
- Good experience in interfacing with end clients and EPC contractors
- Has strong desire to be at the forefront of the oil and gas sector and deliver outstanding projects
- Conversant with the Engineering standards such as API, NFPA, IP, IEC, ASME, BS / EN, etc.
- Offshore work experience will be an advantage
- Ability to use Technical Safety software pertinent to design reviews (e.g. DNV Phast & Safeti, Gexcon Shell FRED & Shepherd, Sunrise Pipenet, Schlumberger Flaresim)
- Demonstrate, provide and develop appropriate technical solutions for specific project issues
- Possess sound technical knowledge and decision-making skills to deliver challenging projects
- Self-motivated with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer focus and ability to respond to customer needs whilst achieving project and company objectives
- Experience of brownfield modifications
- Good cross functional knowledge

Civil Structural Designer shall be technically qualified (Bachelor Degree in Engineering with 10 years’ minimum Oil & Gas experience) in civil structural discipline, 2D/3D CADD systems, specifically in Engineering Designs and interdisciplinary layout preparation utilizing the 2D/3D Modeling techniques.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Ability to review and understand Client’s technical documentation and requirements
- Must have good knowledge and extensive experience with ADNOC / Shell DEP standards and drafting procedures
- Must have good knowledge and understanding of civil, structural and architectural drawings
- Able to organize inputs for preparation of civil, structural and architectural drawings

- Cooperating with other engineering disciplines, customers and subcontractors locally or overseas
- Must be able to review and check civil structural design deliverables
Qualifications:
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering with 10 years minimum Oil & Gas experience
- Good verbal as well written communication skills, leadership and coordination, analytic and pro-active approach competence in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Chemical Industries.
- Willingness to overcome challenges and pressure during peak of project.

Industry Specific Experience: Minimum 10 years of mechanical design in onshore and offshore oil gas industry in a brownfield environment with focus on rotating equipment. FEED and detailed engineering experience is essential. Recent experience in an engineering consultancy in a multidiscipline environment is essential.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Interact with the project engineering manager for solving technical problems arising during project development.
- Ability to review Client’s technical documentation and requirements.
- Conduct Rotating Equipment Engineering activities for projects, from initial concept definition phase through engineering studies, FEED, detailed design and commissioning.
- Create, develop and review work-scopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure that the work-scopes are comprehensive and clear.

- Ensures effective communications among other engineering disciplines and project management teams.
- Coordinate within members of mechanical discipline, other engineering disciplines within the organization or project team as well as with Clients, third parties, vendors etc.
- Participates in progress review meetings and be aware of project status, progress, delays, change notices, performance measurement, lessons learned and close-out.
- Ability to prepare documents for mechanical related workshops and actively participate in same
- Assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, material quantity and budget control
- Takes personal responsibility for safety and a healthy environment on the projects
- Is able to produce proposals for projects which involve man hour and schedule estimates for mechanical discipline

- Technical Bid Evaluations of selected Vendor Offers
- Prepare of specifications, data sheets and other information covering Rotating equipment and system packages
- Technical writing activities, in particular, production of technical reports and operating manuals.
- Specialized expertise with rotating equipment, specifically centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, compressors screw, centrifugal, reciprocating, sliding van etc. Gas Turbines as well as other rotating equipment packages Hands on experience with pumps, compressors and packaged equipment.
- Specialized expertise in the specification for, evaluation of and documentation of rotating equipment packages.
- Specialized knowledge of API-610 pumps, API-617 618 compressor, API-682 Mech. seal and statutory and regulatory requirements and a good understanding of onshore and offshore engineering practices.
Qualifications:
- Engineering Graduate (BEng, BSc. or MSc.) in Mechanical or Technical related degree.
- Minimum of 10 years relevant engineering experience in Mechanical Engineering.
