About The Job
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintain a good technical understanding of Planet payment products and solutions.
- Participate in the creation of cashless payment solutions made up of unattended systems, Big Data Platforms, networks, databases and connections to acquirer systems.
- Do end-to-end testing of the POS Issuing solutions and raise defects to the relevant development department.
- Advise on technical aspects and working with a variety of systems.
- Attend meetings and calls with both internal and external parties and provide technical advice to all.
- Design, build and install test environments for each integration to support the integrator testing.
- Perform, as required, installations of various Planet UAT systems on customer sites remotely on in person.
- Have the ability to read and understand technical specifications, including architecture diagrams, payment flows and protocols.
- Participate in the creation of payment solution architectures.
- Work with third party software integrators, suppliers and developers.
- Provide architecture and integration technical documentation of the POS Issuing solutions.
- Provide documented, handover of the solution to the Service Operations team.
- Participate in quality assurance / end-to-end test of new releases of the POS Issuing clients lifecycle.
- Work in a collaborative manner with the rest of the Solution Engineering team and assist colleagues as required and help alleviate acute resource constraints or project sprint cycles.
- Candidate selected should overlook Planet’s POS issuing solutions future roadmap and work closely with development teams to introduce new functionalities and innovation.
- Candidate should also be responsible for all major integrations in EMEA region and work closely with merchants development team to integrate their till POS solutions with Planet’s solution. Willing to travel internationally.
Who you are:
- Technical/scientific university degree or equivalent.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in a technical payments environment.
- Knowledge of basic architecture of leading market POS till systems ( ex, Oracle xStore , Cegid ..etc)
- In-depth and hands-on experience of biometric readers like Gemalto and PCI-DSS compliant card readers and their associated SDKs.
- Hands-on experience of web services architecture like GET/POST/PUT methods and REST API design.
- Basic understanding of ElectronJS app architecture and also knowledge in HTML,CSS is an added value.
- Basic understanding of low code platforms architecture like Mendix/Outsystems – no development skill-set needed.
- Vast and in depth understanding of JSON Decoding/Encoding as well as CURL methods in any programming language.
- Knowledge in any programing language concepts (Objects, Functions and classes ) PHP, Javascript, Ruby , ASP.net ..etc.
- Linux, DevOps, Apache Kafka , Jenkins, Containers, Kubernetes , Docker, Azure skillset is highly desirable.

Key Results Area:
- Be the point of contact and welcome and greet our international shoppers at the refund/validation point in Dubai International Airport.
- Process the validation of the customer tax refunds via our onsite solution.

- Inform the customer of the different refund methods available to them after validation of their tax free purchases.
- Resolve any issues that may be present with their tax free purchases in a courteous and helpful manner.
- Ensure the customer feels informed of the process and feel fully assisted by you at validation point.
- Be a subject matter expert for the customer on the rules and processes of the tax refund scheme.
- Report and escalate system or validation issues to the Refund/Operations Manager and appropriate team.
