Bartender – ME Dubai
Job Summary: The role of a bartender goes beyond the ability to pour a beer well or to create classic and innovative drinks in accordance with customers’ needs and expectations. Bartenders should maintain positive guest interactions in a friendly and efficient manner and ensure they have a great experience at the BAR or lounge.
What will I be doing?
- To prepare and serve beverage orders according to recipes and service standards.
- To be fully knowledgeable about all bar products and cocktail recipes.
- To be able to up sell each time with each customer.
- To provide high standard of quality and efficient / friendly service.
- To prepare mise‑en‑place and perform side duties.
- To collect all general requisitions and food and beverage requisitions.
- To strictly adhere to opening and closing procedures established for the outlet and check beverage stock.
- To have a thorough understanding and knowledge of all beverage items and prepare garnishes for each cocktail accordingly.
- To ensure that the bar counter and surrounding area is kept clean and organized at all times.
- To monitor operating supplies and reduce spoilage and wastage.
- To handle guest enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner.
- To establish a rapport with guests maintaining good customer relationship.
- To perform cashiering functions and to ensure that the outlet cashiering procedures are strictly adhered to.
- To ensure proper presentation display of premium liquors on every shelves with proper defined quantities are followed.
- To have ready garnishes for all cocktails upon opening of the bar.
- To coach and train new recruits through on‑the‑job‑training.
- To perform any assigned duties within the F&B department according to business demand.
- To assist in the training of the employees ensuring that they have the necessary skills to perform their duties with the maximum efficiency.
- To assist in carrying out monthly, quarterly, bi‑yearly, yearly inventory of operating equipment.
- To assist the manager in updating the promotions on the boards.
- To be able to do end of shift closing.
- To report for duty punctually wearing the correct uniform and name tag. To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene and adhere to the hotel and department grooming standards.
- To provide friendly, courteous and professional service at all times.
- To maintain good working relationships with your colleagues and all other departments.
- To be aware of the hotel’s Employee Handbook and have an understanding of and adhere to the hotel’s rules and regulations and in particular, the policies and procedures relating to Fire, Hygiene, Health and Safety.
- To comply with UAE legislation as required.
- To respond to any changes in the department as dictated by the needs of the hotel.
- To be flexible and extend job duties to carry out any other reasonable duties and responsibilities within the job capability as assigned, including redeployment to alternative departments/areas if required, to meet business demands and guest service needs.
- To attend training and meetings as and when required.
What are we looking for?
- Between one and three years’ hands-on experience in hotels or high-end bars in a similar role.
- Individual must have excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal skills in English and other languages are highly valued.
- Individual must possess strong leadership skills, be able to motivate and influence others.
- Individual must be able to think creatively and strategically, have excellent judgment and be able to work in a changing environment.

Job Description
MyHR Subject Matter Expert – 3 months Fixed Term
The Job Opportunity
Serco is looking to hire a Subject Matter Expert; someone who is proactive, initiative driven and is responsible for the delivery and coordination of MyHR transactional services (payroll, OM, Helpdesk and Employees’ records management) between the onshore and offshore HR Shared Services teams by implementing effective and efficient processes and solutions. Coordinating day to day operations, issue resolution and ad hoc training/knowledge transfer.
This a fixed term opportunity of 2 months duration only.
Key accountabilities
- Provide payroll related support to the offshore payroll team to enable accurate and timely pay of all employees.
- Ensures transactional process documentations (LWI’s) are developed, maintained and implemented for all MyHR processes. Working with appropriate stakeholders to ensure timely and complaint management of the above.
- Supports internal and external audit of offshore MyHR and their services, while ensuring control environment meets our standards.
- Responsible for effective and timely knowledge transfer to the offshore MyHR team of new requirements and/or improved processes and ways of working; ensuring full awareness and comprehension of process requirements to deliver compliant services in line with SLA’s.
- Assist the Support Services Team in resolving shared services process related conflicts and issues within Serco Middle East contracts and/or offshore transaction centre.
What we are looking for in our candidates
- Sound knowledge of HR Shared Services ways of working.
- Strong knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel information systems (SAP).
- Ability to understand complex systems and possess good IT skills.
- Strong organisational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver on promises.
- Working closely with a remote team
- Knows how to deliver against performance metrics.
Specific requirements
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working on HR transactional services including payroll and helpdesk.
- Experience of working remotely with other team members.
- Experience and understanding of dealing with customers and conflict resolution techniques.
- Experience of working within a Shared Service/Support function.
- Relevant Bachelor degree with Human Resources or Business Management.
