Job Title: International Account Manager
Location: Abu Dhabi-AZ-ARE, Awali-BHR

General purpose for this job.

The international account manager will drive revenue and accelerate growth across all platforms of the international organization – with a focus on creating strategic account plans and managing the entire customer lifecycle (sales, contract negotiation, execution and management, as well as post sales) in order to achieve the strategic business goals and objectives identified by the customer and H&P to derive mutual value. In addition, she/he will translate the customer’s strategy and priorities into a joint innovation roadmap and build a product development pipeline. The international account manager will direct and work alongside a team of cross-functional resources to execute the strategic account plans that deliver global revenue growth and meet objectives of the regions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build and maintain long-term customer relationships with key senior-level decision makers and influencers at strategic accounts of international oil companies (IOC), national oil companies (NOC), and independents.

  • Manage relationships with agents/representatives as needed.

  • Build brand awareness, One-H&P.

  • Identify, develop, and close new sales opportunities.

  • Evaluate and make recommendations on which tenders/RFI to participate in and then oversee tenders, request for quotes process to ensure high quality and compliant proposals are completed.

  • Create demand for the organization’s products and services by raising their profile with customers (including rigs and technologies).

  • Seek out relevant opportunities to participate in technical presentations, industry events and conferences in the region.

  • Formulation and execution of region’s key account strategy (short- (6 months)/mid- (12-24 months)/long-term (24 months+)) including an ambitious revenue and long-term target plans (quarterly, annual, and five-year plans).

  • Responsible for region’s revenue targets (top line and return on investment targets) as well as overall customer satisfaction.

  • Conduct regular status and strategy meetings with the customer’s senior management to understand their needs and develop customized solutions for them.

  • Provide strategic plan presentations to customer and H&P executives.

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of government (NOC) procurement procedures and guidelines to ensure that the organization’s sales and solution initiatives are fully compliant.

  • Understand and fully abide by H&P’s FCPA policies.

  • Plan, facilitate, and/or conduct multifaceted, extended negotiations for the sale of complex, high-value, multi-year, multi-rig, and technology contracts, considering various performance contracting models.

  • Utilize advanced product/service knowledge and understanding of the customer’s business to develop customized proposals that present creative solutions that successfully sell the organization’s capabilities.

  • Ensure learnings and innovation shared across the accounts and global network shared internally and across function.

  • Drive execution of key priorities and customer sales projects / opportunities.

  • Use the sales CRM, CVP, contacts and other tools as prescribed by H&P to track sales activities and show sales funnel.

  • Strong relationship development skills and a proven business development track record

  • Strong understanding of solution selling methods so that H&P is positioned as a trusted partner and advocate for the customer

  • Ability to influence globally, strong EQ (Emotional Intelligence Skills)

  • Experience selling to the C-suite or other “decision makers”

  • Experience leading quarterly business reviews to address performance, strategies, and activities of the customer stakeholders

  • Proven experience in using quantitative and qualitative analysis to assess customer relationships and make recommendations for each account

  • Strong business, marketing and analytical skills

  • Able to find innovative solutions to difficult or complex problems to close business and drive new revenue

  • Strong communication skills: verbal, written and presentation. Able to convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences

  • Constantly moving forward, looking to the future, and making things happen

  • Understands and navigates complexities associated with legal, compliance, and contracting language

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.  Planning and prioritizing work to meet commitments aligned with organization goals

  • Strong company knowledge. Knows the company, what it is, what it does, why and how it does it

WORK EXPERIENCE: 

Indicate any work experience or knowledge candidates should have to fill this position. (Duration, industry, and whether the experience is preferred required or replaceable with other experiences.) Specify any knowledge that a candidate should have for this position. (i.e. rig knowledge, GAAP knowledge, Workday knowledge).

  • 5-10 years’ experience of successful account management, sales and/or contract negotiation

  • Working knowledge of drilling industry, equipment, & practices

  • Previous international experience a plus

TRAVEL: 

This position requires extensive travel.  Some travel may be international which will require a valid passport and/or work visas. It is estimated that approximately 40-50% of your time will be traveling.

LANGUAGES: 

Fluent in English and local language or dialect (Arabic)
