Roles and Responsibilities

• Manage and control of the generator operation to reach defined targets in safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
• Partner with the Plant Leadership team and develop a customer-based process improvement strategy, which drives safety, customer responsiveness, lead time reduction, productivity, and quality improvement in line with business objectives
• Training and Career planning of winding team and conducting employee evaluations.
• Oversight and management of winders and Technicians and ensure real time problem solving.
• Support PM and engineering for Workshop project executions.
• Schedule rewind activities and prepare work instructions.
• Lead designing and procuring the tools for execution.
• Review generator repair requests and estimate repair hours and cycle time.
• Inspection of hardware and consumables required for rewinding works.
• Planning of consumables and follow up with procurement team.
• Review and release operation plan and processes.
• Supervision of electrical testing performed during rewinding activities.
• Lead final visual inspection of rotor/repaired component.
• Reporting of technical deviations in the Non-Conformance Reporting (NCR) system
• Review and reporting of test results and project report.
• Implementation of actions to reach workshop goals and area Generator business targets.
• Leading process qualifications.

Required Qualifications

• BSc. of Electrical/Electronics/Electronics & Communications/Mechanical Engineering.
• Expected to resolve problems through the application of acquired expertise and in coordination with the Lean and cell leader.
• Extensive experience in repair of generators and performing turbo generators winding works.
• Experience with leading front-line employees.
• Working experience in a production environment.
• Experience in capacity planning.
• Sound knowledge of winding processes, Testing & fault diagnosis.
• Good knowledge of common IT office tools.
• Experience in carrying out electrical and mechanical measurements.
• Planning of rewinding and repair work as per technical instructions from engineering.

About The Job:

The Field Service Technician will lead the field service processes of the GE Renewable Energy Hybrids business for installed photovoltaic inverters and battery energy storage system, reporting to the Services Leader. This position will be based in UAE, with domestic and international travel.

Responsibilities:

• Provide on-site technical direction for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, repair, operation, and maintenance and warranty remediation of power electronics including solar inverters and battery energy storage systems systems to ensure 97% or better up time
• Work scope includes electrical, instrumentation, and control system, including cable routing and terminations, loop checks, instrument calibration, safety and alarm system settings, software installation and settings, system start up, and system tests.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work at customer sites and assure that the work is completed in a safe manner, of the highest quality standards, and in full compliance with GE procedures, manuals, and work instructions.
• Drive customer experience trough effective communication, contract compliance, and meeting expectations with respect to safety, quality, and delivery for services products.
• Meet GE business expectations by leading business operational processes involving safety, quality, schedule, and cost for service business obligations.
• Communicate goals, deliverables, strategies, risks, and opportunities as required internally within GE.
• Protect GE’s reputation and technology in the marketplace.
• Promote a working environment that encourages employee involvement to achieve excellence in all services management metrics.

Required Qualification:

• Bachelors or Associates in Engineering and/or relevant experience
• Minimum 2 years of experience in power electronics and controls field services, solar power system and battery storage systems maintenance, or power plant equipment installation/ commissioning.
• Proficient in English language, both verbal and written
• 80% travel required (domestic and international travel)

Desired Qualification:

• Knowledge of Modbus serial and Ethernet communications
• Prior experience in GE Products is a plus
• Experience on PLC. MarkVI, Mark Vie, controls systems
• Ability to understand and implement controls software.
• Strong communication skills
• Prior Lean continuous improvement experience

Job Summary:

The Analytics Engineer at MTC (Middle East Technology Centre) is the customer focal for implementation and application of analytics in the field through Analytics Based Maintenance (ABM) or customer operations (e.g. derate or wash practices). Integrates with the regional Customer Teams to innovate with the customer to identify and deliver insights using analytics tools. Connect learnings from field/shop data and/or customer operations to the business and the engineering teams.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Prepare and deliver regular customer/ Customer Team (CT) engagements to review the derate & engine wash performance of MENAT region
• Support customer discussions to implement new cleaning / derate technologies concerning to the engine EGT/TOW & Fuel burn impacts
• Periodically review the trends of performance through scorecards: bowler/customer engagement platform. Actively communicate the progress in Design Board meetings.
• Innovate the development of and apply new Analytics methods for new levels of accuracy, speed, and scale. Develop proof of concept methods and tools to visualize /assess the derate & wash performance and generate insights.
• Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
• Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work group. For example, connect and integrate Analytics into Digital products align with the Services Digital product strategy & collaborate with other engineering sites to integrate EGT analysis methods
• Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles.
• Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications:

This role requires advanced experience in the Engineering/Technology & Customer Project Support. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).
