Job Overview: Associate Director, University Partnerships

The University Partnerships team is responsible for sourcing the best possible content and programs for our learners from 175+ of the best universities worldwide. This requires us to build strong and long-lasting relationships with our partners and to work closely with them to define and execute their strategy.

In this role you will report into the Director, University Partnerships and manage a portfolio of university partners. Your performance will be measured by the revenue generated for your partners and Coursera through sourcing non credentialed courses, increasing program cohort sizes, contract renewals, and overall partner satisfaction. In this cross-functional role, you can expect to work with members within Partnerships, Content Strategy, Services, Marketing, Product, Finance and Legal. Your ultimate goal is to collaborate with these teams to grow portfolio revenue.

Externally, you will interface with a range of stakeholders from university leadership to instructors to online course development teams. You will be an advisor to partners as their institutions expand online and ultimately be responsible for bringing the right content to our catalog. Central to your work is the ability to demonstrate and ensure Coursera’s value to the institution while contributing to the team’s portfolio strategy, driving long-term engagement with partners, and bringing skills development content to learners.

Success in this position requires rigorous account planning and exceptional consultative sales skills; the ability to navigate the complex higher education environment by identifying content growth and upsell opportunities;  the ability to translate complex narratives and influence with sales collateral; and a passion for achieving results in a data-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive partner revenue through sourcing new non-credentialed content and growing existing content
  • Build and manage relationships with university leadership and administrators understand and influence their vision, strategy, and content pipeline potential
  • Support and drive contract renewals and creation of partner-facing materials
  • Execute account management functions like recurring strategic partner reviews, and troubleshoot issues for your portfolio in conjunction with other Pod members
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for new content growth, prioritize accounts, handle objections, and evaluate growth opportunities
  • Ensure smooth running partnerships through focus on contractual commitments, financial reporting, deadline adherence, and other obligations

Basic Qualifications:

  • Fluency in Arabic and English
  • 5+ years of experience working in an account management, customer success, program management, or higher education role
  • Experience developing and meeting strategic goals within a portfolio and demonstrating strong analytical skills and the ability to influence others through relationship building

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Passion for Coursera’s mission, building trusted relationships, and achieving ambitious goals to bring high-quality content to learners around the world
  • Excellent presentation skills. Executive presence, ability to work with senior university administrators and faculty. Entrepreneurial drive and comfort working in ambiguous, quickly-changing environments
  • Understanding of the Higher Education and EdTech market including higher education landscape, key influencers, decision making process, budgeting etc.
  • Natural problem solver and strategic thinker, comfortable deriving insights from data and complex scenarios with ability to identify revenue-generating opportunities

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the PR strategy for Coursera for Campus, Government Business and Consumer;  thoughtfully communicate Coursera’s leadership role in equipping  these institutions with skills for their citizens and students  to navigate the digital transformation we’re experiencing today.
  • Develop PR assets such as press releases, blog posts, and briefing notes for major government and campus launches, business partnership announcements, product news, and other country-specific events through a clear and concise writing style.
  • Manage agencies for key launches, setting press goals and driving global coverage for various announcements across the region. This will require often  managing 4-5 markets in the region.
  • Grow the thought leadership program by driving keynotes, data reports, awards, and opinion articles in each of the priority markets across the region with great proactivity and creative thinking.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally  to identify customer case studies for PR usage and secure business, government or university participation in initiatives such as events and briefings.
  • Coordinate initiatives with reputable partners like the World Economic Forum, NASSCOM, the World Bank, etc. particularly at a regional level in the Middle East, Europe and Africa.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4-6 years experience in technology PR, a combination of both agency and in-house experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Business  writing skills and creative flair, including demonstrated history of using data and insights to power thought leadership and media conversations
  • Business project and global agency management skills, with a track record for developing trusted relationships with reporters
  • Experience coordinating PR campaigns and working cross-functionally with other teams
  • Ability to manage senior executives and engage in the strategic planning process of campaigns

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in higher education/ edtech or government PR is appealing but not crucial
  • Working for leading tech companies and top-tier PR firms
  • Experience coordinating launches with other MENA markets (Saudi, UAE and Dubai particularly)
  • Passion for technology driven solutions to solve global and community challenges and for lifelong learning

We are looking for a Customer Success Manager to manage Coursera’s University customers mainly in the Middle East. In this important role, you will be part of a huge growth opportunity where Coursera is scaling and building out our “Coursera-for-Campus” strategy. As part of the Customer Success team, you will manage a portfolio largely composed of university customers. You can expect to work with members within Sales, Implementation, Partnerships, Marketing, Product, Finance, and Legal.

Responsibilities:

    • Own end-to-end renewal process for all your customers by developing account plans, build relationships with decision-makers and influencers, holding executive business reviews, and negotiating contracts
    • Help launch and drive adoption by developing learner engagement programs and sharing best practices
    • Understand the customer needs and work towards agreed success metrics
    • Serve as the primary point of escalation when customer issues arise, troubleshooting, and ensuring quick resolution
    • Collect product feedback and influence the product roadmap and GTM strategy
    • Meet with customers over video calls and in-person (when allowed)

Basic Qualifications:

    • Fluency in Arabic and English language
    • 8+ years of work experience managing senior customer relationships
    • A track record of high customer retention, renewal, and growth
    • Experience with driving product adoption within large educational or enterprise populations
    • Background in account management, contract negotiation, customer success

    • Experience in the higher education sector
    • Natural problem solver and strategic thinker, comfortable manipulating large data-sets
