Senior Surveyor/Associate

Job Location: Remote

Key responsibilities:

  • Value commercial property within the UAE by applying expert knowledge and awareness of the local property market.
  • Provide informed, market facing and independent advice on all commercial asset types.
  • Review and analyse property valuation information provided by the client and identify missing information to be requested.
  • Prepare detailed valuation reports and reach firm and justifiable conclusions on values for work undertaken.
  • Prepare models using Microsoft Excel, Argus Enterprise and Argus Developer.
  • Liaise with clients and ensure high quality advice is consistently delivered.
  • Take day to day responsibility for the execution of instructions under minimum supervision.
  • Manage multiple valuation instructions at the same time efficiently and effectively.
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of a strong client base.
  • Play an active role in the supervision and development of more junior team members – reviewing reports, providing technical advice and APC guidance.
  • Work closely with senior team members on high profile instructions.
  • Support an expanding team in its business development objectives and continued growth in revenue.
  • Collaborate with other departments internally to maintain market knowledge and cross sell opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Chartered surveyor (MRICS) with a minimum of 5 years’ post qualification experience.
  • RICS registered valuer.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of valuation regulations and legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of the real estate market across all asset types is essential. Regional UAE knowledge is desirable.
  • Excellent knowledge of Argus Enterprise and Developer is essential.
  • Good interpersonal skills and an ability to quickly form professional relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Possess good business acumen, ability to adapt, prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Proactive and should enjoy working autonomously and as part of a wider team.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

We are seeking a Manager to join our Strategy and Consulting department based in our Dubai office.

Our Strategy and Consulting team comprises experienced professionals with international advisory experience offering bespoke and localised consulting services. You will be expected to help our team successfully deliver recommendations and drive implementation for our clients in the following areas:

Responsibilities:

  • Independently lead projects by overseeing junior team members and managing clients’ expectations by understanding their strategic objectives and priorities.

  • Create financial models across all core real estate sectors and asset classes.
  • Perform complex feasibility/highest and best use analysis, develop sophisticated tools and creative approaches that will allow our clients to optimise their real estate portfolios.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of real estate related experience, with an emphasis on consulting/advisory work.
  • A master’s degree in commerce or real estate is essential.
  • Strong background and proven experience with portfolio strategy/planning and financial analysis.
  • GCC work experience along with a strong grasp of the local and GCC real estate market is essential.
  • Advanced real estate financial modelling skills are mandatory, including the ability to create financial models comprising various phasing strategies and operational elements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Highly analytical with excellent attention to detail.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced credit controller to join a highly respected finance department in an established chartered surveying firm. The ideal candidate should have experience working in the UAE.

What this opportunity involves:

As a credit controller, you will be responsible for expertly managing the debts of our company. This will involve progressively reducing the company’s average debtor balances by employing effective collection strategies, maintaining updated records related to the company’s debtor balances, acting as the main point of contact in relation to the company’s debtor balances and providing administrative support.

To ensure success as a credit controller, you should have exceptional communication and negotiation skills, the ability to keep detailed and accurate records and the skills required to reconcile complex client accounts.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain accurate schedules of all overdue client balances.
  • Maintain accurate details of different payment terms offered to clients in each case.
  • Locate and contact debtors to understand and manage their payment status.
  • Issue payment reminder emails to clients as per company policy.
  • Escalate to relevant client personnel as required to recover outstanding amounts.
  • Make phone calls and expedite recovery by speaking with relevant client personnel.
  • Keep organised records of all debt recovery related communication (internal and external).
  • Proactively liaise with fee earning departments to resolve payment delays related to deliverable submissions.
  • Act as a point of contact for handling debtor balance related questions and complaints.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in debtor balance records.
  • Issue a weekly debt collection status update to each department head.
  • Issue a weekly consolidated debt collection status report to the finance manager.
  • Liaise with department heads and the general counsel to initiate legal proceedings when unavoidable.
  • Actively work towards reducing the average debtor balances of the company.
  • Liaise with department heads to process any debtor balance write-off requests, as per company policy.
  • Comply with all company information security policies and procedures to maintain the confidentiality, integrity and availability of information.
  • Comply with company data protection guidelines when dealing with personal and/or sensitive data.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or mathematics is preferred.
  • Proven work experience as a credit controller is essential.
  • Good understanding of the legal complexities of loans, payment plans, and interest rates.
  • Proficient in using accounting software.
  • Ability to reconcile complex debtors’ accounts.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
